The Overcomers Place Supporters Group, for loved ones supporting someone overcoming addiction

The Overcomers Place hosts a weekly ONLINE free of charge group for supporters of anyone struggling with addiction. 

Is your loved one living with addiction?

Is their addiction getting in the way of healthy family or friendship dynamics?

Looking for support to deal with their addiction, lifestyle or recovery?

Are you seeking community and connection, to better understand yourself and your role as a supporter to someone in addiction?

You are certainly not alone; we have a support group for YOU.

The road to recovery is unique for everyone, and therefore unique and often unchartered territory for those closest. The Overcomers Place (TOP) provides a Supporters Group for carers, partners, and families, offering support for those living with or supporting loved ones through addiction and recovery.

Each Thursday TOP hosts an online meeting from 1 – 2pm (Sydney time), dedicated to providing supporters connection, care, compassion, whilst equipping group members with tools, strategies and communication skills to enhance our loved one’s journey, and our own; one day at a time.

This group focuses on the nature of the family disease of addiction and the impact of that on YOU rather than the focus on the one who is struggling with the substance abuse. 

Recovery from addiction takes time, and as supporters it is important to take time for yourself to understand and acknowledge the role you play across the recovery landscape. Sometimes it incredibly difficult to maintain strength, hope and commitment, at the coalface of someone else’s addiction recovery. We get it and we’ve “got you”.

Each week, meet and hear from others in a similar position, learn skills to best manage your loved one’s recovery, and your own. Share the joys, share your thoughts, concerns and unburdened your inevitable worries, whilst sharing a laugh along the way!
